Logan Egan

Senior Landscape Architect & Restoration Manager

Logan was thrilled to join JMT Wild in Spring 2025 as Senior Landscape Architect & Restoration Manager. He serves the organization by planning and conducting site inventories and analyses; managing restoration projects through all phases of permitting, design, documentation, and implementation; continuing to develop the organization’s restoration techniques and strategies; and collaborating with federal agencies on projects from start to finish.

“For me, the High Sierra is a sacred space that has been witness to many moments of personal revelation that guide my life and make me who I am today. It has shown me that the wild world is friend not foe, and that it willingly reveals its endless wonders if I but inquire with steady effort and open mind. It is an honor to work to conserve the wildness of the Range of Light, and in so doing, perpetuate the possibility of this profound relationship for others for centuries to come.”

Logan holds a BS and MS in Earth Systems from Stanford University and an MLA from UC Berkeley. He is also a professional landscape architect (CA lic. #6825) and ISA Certified Arborist (WE-13253A). He brings many years of experience in ecological design and project management as a consultant, as well as previous experience in entrepreneurship, land management, and organic farming.

Logan is a life-long Californian and nature-boy. In 2008, he hiked the PCT (including the JMT!) and over his life has cultivated a deep relationship with the Sierra Nevada. He lives in Nevada City with his family, where he serves on the board of directors for the Bear Yuba Land Trust and is an avid trail-runner, hiker, and mountain biker, mostly getting out with his son and dog. When he can get away, if you look hard enough, you can find him wandering the High Sierra’s off-trail basins and passes.
