Ron Bernal is a technology executive and venture capitalist with more than 40 years of experience spanning software, infrastructure, semiconductors, and emerging technologies. He currently serves as a Venture Advisor to New Enterprise Associates (NEA), following 15 years as a Venture Partner at the firm, where he focused on infrastructure, software, and information technology investments.

 Ron has also held senior executive roles at several leading technology companies, including Growth Networks, Cisco Systems, Silicon Graphics, and Edge Computer Corp. Ron has served on the boards of numerous technology companies, including Data Domain, Nicira, SolidFire, LifeSize, and has current board roles at Cohere Technologies and Gladly.

An avid backpacker, Ron has completed the John Muir Trail from Tuolumne Meadows to Mt. Whitney, and spends regular time exploring the Sierra Nevada and other national and international mountain ranges. 

Ron holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from DeVry University.
