JMT HIKER SURVEY

The JMT Hiker Survey collects information useful for hikers in the Sierra Nevada. Over 6,000 people have taken the survey since 2013 and the collated data has been published in peer-review journals. The survey can take as little as 10-20 minutes.

Review the following questions to see if you’re eligible to participate.

• Was your overall hike plan more than 4 days?

• Was your planned distance under 501 miles?

• Did your plan include at least some of the JMT (however short) or at least cross the JMT?

Please answer even if you switched mid-hike to a “Plan B” that would not qualify on its own. Plan B hikes provide very useful data.
